Sun, MindTree Set Up A Competency Center
Sun Microsystems and MindTree Consulting announced today the setting
up of a competency center to jointly work on the Sun Open Network
Environment (Sun ONE) and to develop solutions for Web services.
This will be the first such competency centre of Sun in South Asia.
In the Asia-Pacific region, there are three others total-two in
China and one in Taiwan.
The solutions are expected to help Indian companies move onto
the next level of computing through a ‘services-driven network’
architecture.
Barbara Gordon, senior vice-president of worldwide field Operations,
iPlanet, Sun Microsystems Inc, said, “This will enable our customers
to have their solutions 100 per cent tested before the rollout.
It is not enough to get the proof of concept up and running, the
key issue here is to make sure that all the pieces of the software
are working before you give it to the customer.”
According to N. Krishnakumar, vice-chairman and CEO of MindTree’s
Enterprise Business, said building solutions around Web services
will be an important focus area for the company in the upcoming
fiscal year.
